Emery visited Union on Tuesday and had a great shooting night. The Spartans went 55 percent from the floor and 54 percent from the three-point line. Brax Jensen and Jordan Ekker went a combined 10-13 from beyond the arc and each had five threes in the contest. Emery scored 24 points in the first quarter, 23 in the second and 24 again in the third quarter. The Spartans steamrolled the Cougars 90-57 behind their efficient shooting.
Four Spartans reached double-figure scoring. Jensen led the way with 24, followed by Ekker with 20, Justin Rasmussen with 11 and Seth Justice with 10. Jensen recorded a double-double with his 11 assists. Kyler Wilstead had a team-high seven rebounds. Emery recorded 10 steals and forced 17 Cougar turnovers.
Emery (4-1) will return home to play the Juab Wasps (2-4) on Friday in the Spartan Center.
