The Emery Spartans concluded the regular season in Richfield on Tuesday, losing to Wildcats 7-3.
The loss dropped Emery to the sixth seed in Region 15, meaning the team will play this Saturday against the Carbon Dinos in the first round of the 3A Playoffs in Helper.
The Wildcats held the Spartans scoreless until the fourth when they tied the game up at two runs apiece. Richfield added three more runs in the bottom half of that inning and added two more in the sixth to take the victory.
Collton Wilson bashed a home run in the game, which was the first hit by an Emery player this year. Brax Jensen went 1-4 with two RBIs. Easton Gordon, Koda Alton, Jared Snow and Rance Jensen each added a single as well.
Cade Brazier took the loss on the mound after allowing two earned runs in two innings pitched. Alton and Gordon both spent time on the mound in the game.
Emery (11-11, 4-8 Region 15) will take on Carbon in Helper at 10 a.m. in Helper in the first round of the 3A Playoffs. The Dinos beat the Spartans 16-0 back on March 28.
