For the month of May, the Helper City First Friday celebration was a spring fling, hosted mainly at the city park on Main Street on May 6.
Beginning at 5 p.m., activities included a potluck barbecue with hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, desserts, refreshments and more. The food was a joint effort between the city and Cindi Curry, though the community was also asked to pitch in with plates, snacks and other potluck staples.
Jessie McCourt of Waste Water Logistics supplied the manpower and the extra large grill for the event. “Big shout out to him and his organization,” said Helper City Mayor Lenise Peterman. “They always respond when asked to assist.”
Along with the enjoyment of the community potluck, the pots that are located along Main Street were also being planted and those in attendance were invited to participate in the planting.
