Cut & Sew hosted a graduation ceremony on Wednesday evening for members of its advanced manufacturing training program who took the time to learn to sew and manufacture clothing and other handmade items.
The event started with many thanks to those in the program, the community stakeholders and those who helped the program succeed with their efforts. This program is to help those involved gain a new skill in the manufacturing industry. Participants began by learning simple techniques and worked their way to more difficult projects. They made bags, pillows and some clothing items.
A number of graduates made speeches of how grateful they were for the encouragement they received to move forward and obtain a future job in the manufacturing industry. After the ceremony was complete, there were refreshments and tables to showcase each graduate’s project.
