On Tuesday, students at Huntington Elementary honored the 44th year of Earth Day. Earth Day is an annual event that was first celebrated in 1970. It is now globally coordinated by the Earth Day Network and is celebrated in more than 192 countries.
Huntington City donated two large boxes of garbage bags to Huntington Elementary to show its support of the annual celebration. The students started their cleanup on the school grounds and at Huntington City Park. Then, they split up and started working on the surrounding blocks of the city.
