At the April 14 Business Expansion and Retention general meeting, Richard Tatton, a driving force in economic development in the eastern Utah community over the years, received the Golden BEAR Award for his efforts to improve the area.
Tatton, who until his recent retirement was an independent businessman for decades, has also served his community well in the public sector. Among other efforts over the years, he has served on the Carbon School Board, the Price City Council, the Carbon County Planning and Zoning Board and presently is the chair of the Price River Water Improvement District board of directors.
