Friday featured a night of mingling and smiles of astonishment as locals visited K2 Gallery to admire at the third installment of “Faces of Helper” by Kate Kilpatrick-Miller. There were refreshments and talk of the talent that was showcased on the walls.

Miller is the co-owner of K2, with fellow painter and sculptor Karen Jobe Templeton, and has a four-year goal to make over 140 portraits of Helper citizens. She aims to do oil paintings of the local residents and also wants to record their stories along with their painting, and make a book with the assembly of each portrait. With an elaborate amount of talent and practice, she has perfected her artistic skills since graduating from the Arts Program at the Westminster College of Salt Lake City.

For the third installment of the series, Kate Kilpack-Miller completed oil paintings of Ron Jewkes, Norine Jewekes, Frank Marrelli, Margaret Marrelli, Henry Skinner, Eifemia Montoya, Tonya Marshall Turner, Peggy Marshall, Betty Madrigal, Jim Madrigal, Jimmy Callor, Jeanne Tasker, Brain Tasker, Pete Palacious, Jama Grundy, Louis Tonc, and Madeline Tonc.

“Thank you to everyone for coming out to celebrate the third installment of ‘Faces of Helper'” Kilpatrick-Miller said. “It was a great night.”

Kilpatrick-Miller is already eagerly working on the fourth installment, which will be released in the coming months.
