Twelve Local Athletes Earn Academic All-State Honors

Twelve athletes from Carbon, Emery and Grand counties earned Academic All-State Honors for the 2014-15 Fall sports season. Academic All-State requires student athletes to maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher beginning with their freshman year and only seniors are eligible for this award. Senior athletes from local high schools who received these honors are as follows:

Boys Golf – Cumulative GPA of 3.967:
Mark DeBry – Emery High School
Tyeray Migliori – Emery High School

Boys Cross Country – Cumulative GPA of 3.996
J.W. Broadbear – Carbon High School
Joseph Clifford – Carbon High School

Football – Cumulative GPA of 3.978
Matt Mecham – Emery High School

Girls Tennis – Cumulative GPA of 3.993
Brittany Fortner – Emery High School
Laryssa Guymon – Emery High School
Robin Willschiedt – Grand County High School

Girls Cross Country – Cumulative GPA of 3.990
Valerie Chynoweth – Emery High School
Triston Wayman – Emery High School

Volleyball – Cumulative GPA of 4.0
Beth Child- Carbon High School
Emily Olsen – Emery High School
