The USU Eastern men’s basketball team fell short against College of Southern Idaho and North Idaho College last week.
On Thursday, CSI nipped the Eagles with a 85-84 win. Two free throws in the final seconds of the game secured the win for the College of Southern Idaho despite a three ball by Juwan Moody at the buzzer. Hamdi Karoui led the Eagles off the bench with 23 points, followed by Moody with 16.
North Idaho College then traveled to Price on Saturday. Both teams traded points throughout the first half, going into the break 32-30. Late in the game, a steal from NIC and a technical foul by the Eagles gave NIC two attempts at the charity stripe. Both shots went in, handing USU Eastern the 73-70 loss.
The Eagles will now take a break before returning to the court on Jan. 5 against Western Wyoming Community College.
