The Golden Eagles women’s soccer team competed against Laramie County Community College in the regional semifinal game in Denver, Colo. on Friday. Despite a tough competition, USU Eastern fell 1-0 against the team, knocking them out of the regional competition.
Both teams battled in the first but were unable to score until late in the half when Laramie earned an unassisted goal at 40 minutes. USU Eastern and their opponents remained scoreless in the second, ending the game at 1-0.
The Golden Eagles finished their inaugural season 14-3-2 with 37 goals and an average of 1.9 goals per game. At one point, the team was ninth in the nation. Entering the semifinals, they were ranked as number 20.
