The USU Eastern women’s basketball team took to the road on Friday and Saturday. The team competed against Northwest College and Utah Select, earning two wins.
On Friday, the Golden Eagles edged out Northwest College, 85-78. The team got a slow start, ending the first half 46-37. A rally in the second half gained 48 points for USU Eastern against Northwest’s 32. Bryanna Adams led the offense with 25 points on the night, followed by Jamie Smith with 17. Four blocked shots and 13 steals contributed to the Eagle’s win.
USU Eastern earned another win on Saturday against Utah Select, 95-90. Three-point shots aided the Eagles with the win as they drained 15 on the night. At the half, the team led 50-41. Nine steals and four blocked shots helped secure the game for USU Eastern. Ana Borges led the team from the bench with 22 points in the game. Close behind, Adams finished with 19 points while Smith earned 15.
The Golden Eagles sit at 3-0 on the young season. The team will next take on Western Wyoming Community College on Nov. 14 and Casper College the following day.
