The Eagles started the weekend with a hard-fought battle against Central Wyoming College that went into overtime. The Eagles were able to put up 79 points with 24 coming from Gabriel Oliveira, who was one rebound shy of a double-double. The Eagles attacked the basket hard, shooting 29 free-throws on the night.

“We had them on the ropes, but with a few defensive mistakes, they were able to hit a three at the end of regulation and carry that momentum in overtime,” said Eagles’ head coach Vando Becheli. The final score was 85-79.

On Saturday, the Eagles ended the weekend on a high note as they secured a win against Shoreline Community College 72-66.

From the tip, the Eagles were in control of the game. The Eagles were led by Gabriel Oliveira, who scored a game-high 21 points, and added 12 rebounds for a double-double. The Eagles were able to secure 10 steals and shared the ball well with 15 assists.

“We have 12 freshman and [they] are playing with not a lot of experience. This is a learning year for our team, but I am very excited about the next couple years with them. We are working hard each day and trusting the process,” said Vando.

The Eagles will return home this weekend, playing on Nov. 30 against Laramie County Community College. Tip-off will be at 3 p.m.
