Members of the community along with representatives from local government and organizations recently gathered in Green River to dedicate a veteran’s memorial at the John Wesley Powell River History Museum.
The dedication brought together the American Legion Freedom Riders, Green River City Council members, and others from throughout the community to honor veterans.
“Dedicated to all veterans in all ways that brought honor to our country and promise to our dream,” the memorial states.
The ceremony, conducted by Green River Mayor Pat Brady, included the Pledge of Allegiance, patriotic songs and the National Anthem performed on an electric guitar.
“It was a great event with lots of locals and legion bikers to show support for all the veterans of all conflicts like the memorial states,” Emery County Commissioner Keith Brady said.
