Wesley Frank Cole (82) passed away peacefully with family the morning of December 1, 2023.

Wesley was born April 1, 1941 to Frank Forrest Cole and Elma Hinton Cole in Nephi, Utah. Wesley grew up attending schools in Nephi along with his twelve siblings. Wesley came into this world premature and fighting for his life. While growing up, he learned how to work very hard on the family farm, their home did not have running water until he was in his late teenage years. As a youth, he enjoyed riding horses and fishing.

He joined the National Guard, but due to the height requirements, without shoes he was not tall enough, so he wore shoes with higher soles on the day they checked his height so he would be accepted. Wesley’s hobbies included wood working, playing the drums in a band and hunting. He worked as an Emergency Medical Technician and he also retired from the railroad after many years. Wesley married the love of his life Verla Johnson spending many happy years together and lived in Sunnyside, Utah.

Wesley is survived by his brother Lanny (Connie) Cole and six sisters, Jeanine (Neil) VanAusdale, Gayle Pardew, Carma Johnson, Erma (Larry) Vierra, LaNette (Gerard) Ortiz, Roxanna Brereton; children, Lisa, Frank, Cory, Leslie, Wesley, step children, Eunice, Rick and Sherry.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Laura, step children Rashelle, Richard, sisters Nadine, LuRae, Carolyn and brothers Keith and Elwin.

A special thank you at this time to Lanny and Connie Cole for caring for him these past 16 months in their loving and comfortable home. A thank you also to Sandy Pippin for her quick trips to assist with necessary nursing needs.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 9 at 11:00 AM at the Nephi 4th Ward, 345 East 500 North, Nephi, with a viewing one hour prior. Interment will be in the Nephi City Cemetery, 400 East 400 North, Nephi.
