William Lewis Zeller, age 89, died in Mesquite, Nevada on December 25, 2016. He was born on July 29, 1927 to Robert and Elizabeth (Beth) Sawley Zeller in Ketchican, Alaska.
Bill joined the army after high school graduation and used the GI bill to attend Penn State. He earned his master’s degree in mining engineering and spent his entire career involved in the mining industry. He married Tracey McCormick and they had 5 children, later divorced.
In 1980, Bill moved to Utah and married Marilyn Hatsis in 1981. He was a devoted husband, father and a loving grandfather. He enjoyed times spent on “adventures” with his children and grandchildren.
He enjoyed golfing with the seniors every week at the Carbon County Golf Course. He was an excellent skier. He enjoyed traveling, especially cruises. He and Marilyn also enjoyed fishing at Lake Powell and traveling in their R.V. He was a whiz when playing “Trivia.” Bill was a true gentleman.
Bill is survived by his wife Marilyn; 5 children: Chris (Gil) Cosden, Shane (Debby) Zeller, Don (Diane) Zeller, Bob (Lisa) Zeller, Pat (Diana) Zeller; stepson Frank Kraync; 13 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by both parents and his brother Robert.
