The Dinos were on the road to close out the regular season on Wednesday night against South Sevier.

The Rams quickly jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter before Jaylon Dennis jump started the Dinos with a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown that cut their deficit in half.

South Sevier took the ball down the field and scored again to go up 21-14. Carbon then put together a drive of their own that was capped off by a Tyler Wright touchdown pass. The Dinos trailed 21-14 after the first quarter.

The Rams had an answer once more and went up 28-14. With a few minutes left in the half, Carbon was on the Rams’ six-yard line looking to make it a one-score game. After a false start backed the Dinos up to the 11-yard line, the snap went sailing over Dennis’ head and the Rams fell on it for a costly Dino turnover. Carbon went into half trailing by that same score.

Carbon’s defense held the Rams scoreless in the second half but the offense was unable to connect. Carbon fell 28-20 to close out the regular season.

On Saturday, UHSAA will release the state tournament tree. To see if the Dinos made it to the state tournament, please click here.
