Price City Police Press Release
On Tuesday at 4:34 p.m., Price City Police officers were dispatched to a retail theft complaint at 610 West Price River Drive. The male suspect was seen leaving the area in a red Pontiac G6.
Price Police Officer Chris Pugliese located the suspect, Jason Francis Ori, 33, at a nearby business and arrested him.
In the meantime, Price Police Officer Chris Cordova, Sergeant Brandon Sicilia and Sergeant Kelly Maynes located the suspect vehicle in the parking lot and were able to see the stolen merchandise, along with drug paraphernalia inside.
The owner of the vehicle consented to a search during which officers discovered a lock box containing 27.1 grams of methamphetamine, 4.1 grams of heroin, several loose pills and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.
Ori was booked at the Carbon County Jail on the following charges:
1 – Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute in a Drug Free Zone
2 – Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute in a Drug Free Zone
3 – Felony Retail Theft
4 – Possession of Paraphernalia in a Drug Free Zone
Price City Police officers have made a number of substantial drug arrests this year. Chief Kevin Drolc points out that some might get the mistaken impression that the area drug problem is “out of control.”
“The increased drug arrests are simply the result of good police work by Price City Police officers,” he explained. “We are also making an increased effort to keep the community informed of our efforts through more frequent news releases. The Price City Police Department has always taken drug abuse seriously and will continue to do so.”
