Carbon’s football team has had an abnormal week and it continued through its game against Duchesne. Beginning last Friday, Carbon’s schedule game against Altamont ended in a forfeit because Altamont dropped its football program. The would-be Dino opener moves Carbon’s first home game to Sept. 13.
This week, the Dinos played Duchesne on a Thursday, rather than Friday night. The contest itself was strange, as was the final score. The Eagles found the end zone in the first quarter and took a 7-0 lead into half. Carbon could not sustain any drives, offensively and ultimately was shutout in the match. Duchesne’s defense forced not one but two safeties, which occurred in each quarter in the second half.
The Eagles went on to win 11-0. Carbon will be on the road again next week to play Judge Memorial.
