Sarah Braby of the Southeast Utah Health Department (SEUHD) was invited to the Price City Council meeting to give an update on the second annual Mayor’s Walk that is slated for July.

Braby stated that she is a voice for a committee of people working on this event. The inaugural walk was hosted last July before the annual International Days parade and it was organized to encourage citizens to both be active and connect with the community.

This event goes along with the Healthy Utah Community designation that the city received and this year, they will have drawings for kids based on age groups. This year’s walk will be on July 27, beginning at 7:30 a.m. with light yoga and breakfast. Yoga mats will be provided by Castleview Hospital and the Southeastern Regional Development Agency (SERDA) is providing the breakfast.

Coyote’s Well mobile coffee truck will also be at the event selling coffee. This walk will be pet-friendly, as long as the animal is leashed and gets along with other pets. Braby stated that the popularity of this event drew the attention of Helper City, who is hosting their own walk in August in conjunction with the annual Arts Festival.
