Each month, the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce highlights a handful of businesses during its monthly luncheon. One of the businesses highlighted in April was Beg, Borrow and Steele, which is located on historic Helper Main Street.

Ben and Melanie Steele moved to Carbon County nearly 20 years ago as Ben began pursuing his art career. The couple grew their family here while Ben’s art career gained traction. His art was eventually showcased in art galleries throughout the country, but the Steele family recognized the value of growing the art culture locally.

This led to the family purchasing the former Helper Mercantile building nearly five years ago. The space was renovated into a new studio and storefront, which opened to the public in 2021. Beg, Borrow and Steele has been an important part of Helper Main Street since then.

The storefront features Ben’s art, including his iconic takes on pop culture and historical art. While original art pieces are for sale in the storefront, customers can also find prints, apparel, stationary, retro candy and more at Beg, Borrow and Steele.

Customers can pursue the storefront Monday though Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Beg, Borrow and Steele is located at 127 South Main Street in Helper and can be contacted at (435) 472-0318.
