The Dinos gained experience against impressive teams at a tournament in St. George that took place over the weekend.
During Saturday’s matches, #1 singles Andrew Richens played against the #1 from Uintah and won 5-7, 6-3, 10-7. Also, Brayden Agla and Canden Stockdale won a JV match against a team from Desert Hills 8-6.
The rest of the matches were tough with narrow losses for the Dinos. Friday afternoon matches are as follows: The Dinos played Desert Hills at 8 a.m. At # 1 singles, Andrew Richens lost 0-8, at # 2 singles, Isaiah Kobe lost 0-8, at # 3 singles Nathan Cowley lost 1-8, at #1 doubles Jason and Jonas Nielsen lost 1-8, and at #2 doubles Brayden Reiners and Wyatt Whitmer lost 0-8.
Also on Friday, Carbon faced off against Manti at 11:30 a.m. At # 1 singles, Andrew Richens lost 2-8, at # 2 singles, Isaiah Kobe lost 1-8, at # 3 singles Nathan Cowley lost 2-8, at #1 doubles Brayden Reiners and Wyatt Whitmer lost 0-8 and at # 2 doubles Brayden Agla and Canden Stockdale lost 2-8.
Next, Carbon played Payson at 4:30 p.m. At # 1 singles, Andrew Richens lost 0-8, at # 2 singles, Isaiah Kobe lost 2-8, at # 3 singles Nathan Cowley lost 0-8, at # 1 doubles Brayden Agla and Canden Stockdale lost 1-8 and at #2doubles Jason and Jonas Nielsen lost 1-8.

At #3 singles, Nathan Cowley played against the #3 from Clearfield and lost 3-8, at #1 doubles, Jason and Jonas Nielsen played against the #1 doubles team from Clearfield and lost 2-8 and at #2 doubles, Brayden Reiners and Wyatt Whitmer played against the #2 team from Tooele and lost 5-8.
Then, the boys played at noon. At #2 singles, Isaiah Kobe played against the #2 from Tooele and lost 1-6, 5-7, at #3 singles, Nathan Cowley played against the # 3 from Tooele and lost 4-6, 7-5, 8-10, at # 1 doubles, Jason and Jonas Nielsen played against the # 1 doubles team from Tooele and lost 2-6, 6-3, 8-10 and at #2 doubles, Brayden Reiners and Wyatt Whitmer played against the # 2 team from Richfield and lost 4-6, 6-3, 6-10.
“Overall, it was a great learning experience for us and the boys improved by leaps and bounds. We will start region play April 7 against Richfield.” stated head coach Pete Riggs.
