Carbon cross country hosted Emery and Pinnacle on Thursday afternoon at the Carbon Country Club Golf Course.
Emery’s boys posted some speedy times in the three-mile race. Jess Christiansen and Bryar Meccariello finished first and second with sub 16-minute times of 15:26 and 15:52, respectively.
Freshman Dino Easton Humes came in third with teammate Kobe Cruz on his heels in fourth. Merritt Meccariello (EHS), Braxton Ware (CHS), Zach Wolford (EHS), Dwain Farley (EHS), Pierce Bryner (CHS) and Mason Stewart (EHS) rounded out the top 10.
Landen Hardy led the Panthers and finished in 17th while Dalton Peirce followed in 19th. Emery took the boy’s race with Carbon in second and Pinnacle in third.
The Lady Dinos exacted revenge with a dominating performance. Sophomore Ambree Jones finished first followed by Emery’s Adaley Lester. Carbon then filled the next five positions with Erin Stromness, Lillian Seeley, Gracie Tatton, Ellie Hanson and Ada Bradford, respectively.
Kallee Cook came in eighth for Emery with teammates Bethany Justice, Kadrianne Bird and Daicee Ungerman following in 10th, 11th and 12th. Pinnacle’s Kiera Davis took 13th.
Carbon will head to Lloyd’s Lake in Monticello next weekend while Emery will travel to Monroe to face South Sevier on Wednesday, Sept. 2. Pinnacle will race at the Bicknell Badger Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 3.
