Ashlynn Allred defended her 100-meter title Tuesday as she led the Emery Spartans to a third place finish at the Region 15 Track Championships at North Sevier High School.
Allred also took home the 200-meter crown. She also anchored the 4×100 and 4×400 relays in which the team placed first.
Emery scored 170 total points as a team. Grand and San Juan finished in first and second place, respectively.
Other notable finishes:
Freshman Erin Hurst placed second in the 3200 and 800-meter races. Sophomore Shem Guymon and Junior Matt Mecham finished fifth and sixth in the 110-meter hurdles. Sophomore Jaxon Bradley nabbed sixth in the 1600. Seniors Ryan Cox and Cameron Allred finished second and third in the 100 meters, while Sophomore Beau Ivie placed fifth. Sophomore Camry Johnson, Senior Hanna Dyer and Freshman Allyson Woolsey finished second, third and fifth, respectively, in the 400 meters. Senior Jax Gardner placed second in the 300-meter hurdles. Ryan Cox and Cameron Allred finished second and sixth in the 200 meters. The boys’ 4×100, 4×400 and sprint medley relays finished in second, fourth and fourth, respectively. The girl’s medley relay took third. Senior Justan Potter and sophomore Raymond Brazier placed second and fourth in the high jump. Sophomore Paytn Jeffs secured the high jump title with a 5-01.00 jump. She also placed second in the long jump. Ryan Cox and Ivie placed fourth and sixth in the high jump. Junior Nathan Potter nabbed sixth in the shot put. Junior Laryssa Guymon finished in second in the discus.
The team will rest until the Utah UHSAA State Track and Field Championships May 16-17 at BYU’s Clarence Robison Track in Provo.
