An Emery High student passed away over the weekend following a rollover accident in Ferron.
Emery High School senior Travis Ray Swope was coming off of the Ferron desert on Saturday when he was involved in a rollover accident. The Emery County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
According to Emery County Sheriff Greg Funk, Swope’s vehicle was traveling around a turn too quickly. Swope reportedly overcorrected, which resulted in the vehicle rolling. Due to Swope not wearing a seat belt, he was ejected from his vehicle.
The injuries Swope sustained as a result of the accident proved to be fatal.
