The Emery Spartans lost their fifth straight game Tuesday afternoon, falling to South Sevier 6-1 in Castle Dale.
Playing in less-than-ideal weather, Emery scored its lone run in the first inning and couldn’t push another across the rest of the game. South Sevier scored five runs over the fourth and fifth to leave with the victory.
Spartan hurler Tel Gardner picked up the loss on the mound.
Emery (1-6, 0-1 2A East) will play at 3A Union (2-5, 1-0 Region 10) on Tuesday.
