Emery headed to San Juan on Thursday looking to remain in striking distance of Carbon in region standings.
Both Emery and San Juan found the back of the net in the first half and went into the midway point tied at one. Emery was able to pull ahead in the second half and take the contest 2-1.
The Lady Spartans (8-6, 7-1 Region 12) have kept pace with Carbon after suffering a loss in Price a couple weeks ago. They will have a tough test on the road in Richfield (10-4, 5-3 Region 12) on Tuesday. Emery won the first meeting against the Lady Wildcats 3-2 at home and will need to have similar success in order to set up a potential region championship game with Carbon (12-1, 8-0 Region 12) on Thursday in Castle Dale.
