The Ferron City Council met on Thursday where a wide variety of items were discussed.
One of the items addressed was the awarding of funds to Lori Ann Larsen. The funds, raised during the annual Peach Days dinner, was donated to Larsen to assist the Emery County Miners Memorial.
The council also gave consent to enter into a lease agreement to purchase a new backhoe, and a new ordinance dealing with yard sales was adopted.
There was also a discussion regarding the decision to employ an ordinance enforcer. This will be placed in the December and January editions of the newsletter for any who are interested in the position to view and find out more.
The city Christmas party was also discussed. The party, which will be held on Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. at the fairgrounds, will feature the movie “Elf” along with hot chocolate and popcorn. Santa will also make an appearance at the event.
