On Wednesday evening, during their regularly scheduled commission meeting, the Carbon County Commissioners tackled the consideration and possible approval of a legal representation agreement with Smith Hartvigsen for preparation of documents necessary for the creation and maintenance of a community reinvestment plan.
This plan is in regard to a graphite solar company that wishes to install a solar farm north of Wellington. The company approached the commissioners and stated that they wished to create the project area in this calendar year due to the federal monies they are receiving dropping between this year and the next.
In order to be able to keep the timeframe needed, there are companies such as Smith’s that are able to create the documents that are necessary in a timely manner.
With this in mind, the solar company requested that Smith Hartvigsen be used. This will be paid for by the solar company, meaning that there is no out-of-pocket cost that will come to the county. With all discussed in mind, the commissioners approved the legal representation agreement.
