After a win in the second round of the 3A Volleyball Championships, the #3 Lady Dinos advanced to the quarterfinals on Wednesday afternoon. Carbon faced #6 Union in the matchup.
Carbon opened up the game with a win in the first set, 25-20, to take the early lead. The Lady Cougars answered back in a big way with a 25-17 victory in the second to tie things up at 1-1.
The Lady Dinos responded with a dominate 25-13 victory in the third to make it 2-1. However, Union came clawing back in the fourth, trading points with Carbon. The Lady Cougars found the advantage, 25-22, to make it 2-2. It all came down to the final set where Union pulled off the upset, 15-12, to take the game 3-2.
With the loss, the Lady Dinos drop to the consolation bracket. The team will face #10 Richfield on Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. Stream the game online by clicking here.
