The Carbon Lady Dinos took their six-game winning streak to Canyon View Monday but were handed a narrow 4-3 loss, dropping to 4-2 in Region 12 play. The team then rebounded against Emery on Tuesday with a 7-1 win.
Chandelle Nichols led the Lady Dinos against the Falcons, going 3-4 on the day and scoring a run. Desi Lantz homered and Makenna Pendergrass had two hits including a double.
Carbon then hosted the Emery Lady Spartans under the lights in Price on Tuesday. McKenna Sorensen struck out eight while giving up just one run. She also had three hits and an RBI. Taylor Passarella hit a homerun and two singles en route to three RBIs. Paige Haeck was a homerun short of the cycle. Alex Thayn and Kelsey Sorensen both had two singles.
Emery got extra-base hits from Jessica Mason and Jacee Huntington. Morgan Donaldson had the only RBI with a single.
Carbon (14-6, 4-2 Region 12) will host Gunnison Wednesday before traveling to Nephi on Friday to face off against region-leading Juab (17-1, 4-0 Region 12). The two will then square off in Price on Tuesday for Carbon’s regular season finale.
