Scott Madsen was named the interim Athletic Director back in January and USU Eastern Chief Administrator Greg Dart has announced that the “interim” part of the title will now be dropped.
“Scott has been serving as an interim director of athletics for several months. We are excited to have him continue in the role permanently,” said Dart.
Madsen has been the head baseball coach for the past 16 years at the college and he also served as the Assistant AD over Advancement for a time.
“I feel privileged to be named to this position after being the interim for the past seven months. I feel like the athletic department is moving in the right direction and I hope I can continue to build off the success that I have had,” said Madsen. “I have really enjoyed working with all the coaches here and I feel like we have a good environment in our department.”
Madsen and his wife Denice, have five children and the duo resides in Price. Madsen has a bachelor’s degree from Bellevue University and a master’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University. He was raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Kirk Haney was named as the new USU Eastern head baseball coach after Madsen was given the new role.
