Roy spent his younger years of life in the Carbon County Area. In his early teenage years his family moved to the Layton Utah Area. Roy was married to Shannon Whitesides and together they had two children Sunny Parkinson and Robbie McKendrick. They were later divorced and he married Debbie Barber. Together He and Debbie had a son Terry McKendrick. Roy had 2 step-children that he raised as his own also.
Roy was a Transportation Specialist and had a Trucking company R & D Trucking that he owned and operated for many years. Roy was a pioneer in providing hot shot or expedited shipping services as well as contracted supplies to many companies and organizations. Roy was very devoted to his profession and his customers. He was always there to help his customers in need and always found a way to take care of the need.
Roy was a genuine man and had a great love for his family. Family was always a priority and came first in all aspects of his life.
Roy is survived by his wife Debbie McKendrick, daughter Sunny Parkinson, son’s Robby and Terry McKendrick and 2 step-children Brandy Barber and Stanley Barber, sisters Lori Fritz and Kay Fellows and many grandchildren.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents Sherman EmRoy and Twila Mae McKendrick as well as his grandparents and many aunts and uncles and a grandchild.
Funeral Services will be help Saturday September 21, 2019 at the Layton LDS Church at 3:00 P.M.
