The Emery Spartans have dropped two straight games after winning four of their previous five as they lost Wednesday at ALA and then at Manti on Friday.
Stepping out of Region 15 action on Wednesday in Spanish Fork, Emery dropped the game 6-3 despite scoring its three runs in the seventh in an attempt at a comeback.
The Spartans then made the trip to Manti to wrap up the season series against the Templars. Emery beat the Templars 7-2 on Tuesday but dropped the Friday matchup 2-1.
It was the second game against Manti in which Emery totaled just four hits. Koda Alton registered two of the team’s four hits, going 2-3 with a double and a single. Brax Jensen had the lone RBI in the game with a single in three at-bats. Easton Gordon had the other hit in the game.
Easton Gordon threw the complete game one-hitter. He struck out three batters while issuing two walks. Manti was able to end the game with two outs in the seventh as it pushed across the winning run.
Emery (10-8, 3-5 Region 15) will host North Sanpete (9-9, 3-6 Region 15) on Tuesday and then travel to Mt. Pleasant on Friday to complete the season series against the Hawks.
