McKoy Christiansen nabbed a first place finish over the weekend at the Skyhawk Showdown at Salem Hills High School. Emery finished in sixth place overall out of 16 teams ranging 1-5A.
Other top finishers from Emery included Ashton Dieli in second in the 160-pound class and Chase Christiansen in third in the 106-pound class. Zachary World, Nathan Urie, Justin Jennings, Tel Gardner, Newt Oveson, Kacey Jones, Delan Funk and Ty Mecham all finished in the top 12 in the varsity tournament. The top three finishers in each weight class were awarded medals.
Dax Hall (1st), Gus Dalton (1st), McKay Meccariello (1st), Ty Funk (2nd), Lon Huntsman (3rd) and AC Reeves (3rd) all took part in the JV portion of the tourney.
Emery hosts Carbon Tuesday night at the Spartan Center in Castle Dale. The meet can be viewed live on ETV Channel 10 at 7 p.m.
