A trip to Castle Dale resulted in a loss for 5A Uintah, only the second loss for the Utes this season, as the Spartans took care of business on Saturday. Emery took full advantage of its home court as multiple Spartans had standout games.

The teams traded buckets throughout the opening period before tying it up at 15. Emery exploded in the second quarter, however, dominating the Utes. The Spartans outscored their opponents 22-10 in the second to take a comfortable 37-25 lead into halftime.

Uintah attempted a comeback in the third as the team had its best offensive output of the night, outscoring the Spartans 17-11. Emery matched the Utes bucket for bucket down the stretch to secure the 65-58 win. The victory improves Emery to 7-1 on the season.

Wade Stilson was all over the court on Saturday. He recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds to go along with six assists and two steals. Luke Justice also recorded 18 points along with three steals, a rebound and an assist.

Easton Nielson scored double digits as well with 10 to go along with five rebounds and two assists. Brett Rasmussen was a force down low as he added 11 rebounds, three blocks and one steal to the stat sheet to go along with six points and three assists.

Emery (7-1) will look to make it five straight wins as the team travels to Morgan (4-3) on Tuesday. The Spartans will then have a break for the holidays before returning to the court for a matchup on Jan. 3.
