A day after rumors of a strike notice by IBEW Local 57 were said to be unfounded, Local 57 did serve a 60-day strike notice to Utah Power and Light as part of ongoing negotiations. The 60-day notice of intent was given on June 7.
IBEW spokesperson Gary Cox confirmed that the notice has been given, however, he stated that they were taking a contract offer before the rank and file for a vote next Tuesday. Cox said they were still working toward a resolution in the ongoing contract talks.
