On Saturday, local police agencies along with emergency responders will participate in a “mock disaster” drill at Castle Heights Elementary in north Price.

According to Carbon County Chief Deputy Tom Stefanoff several different agencies from the area have been invited to participate in the event. Similar drills have been conducted by the Carbon County agency in the past and are used to sharpen responder’s skills and fine tune emergency protocol.
Residents in the Castle Heights area should be prepared to see emergency vehicles from agencies including the national guard, law enforcement, ambulance and SWAT. The drill will run between the hours of 6 and 8 pm.
The mock disaster is said to be quite intense. A letter which was sent home with Castle Heights students encouraged older children and parents from the school to participate, but advised those younger than fifth grade to avoid the area.
