On Monday afternoon, local first responders were dispatched to Highway 55 in front of Walmart for a two-vehicle collision.
A Chevy van with a female driver was attempting to exit the Walmart parking lot and yielded in the inside lane to allow vehicles to turn beforehand. The driver then thought traffic was clear and attempted to move into the lane to head toward Wellington. Another van, occupied by a male driver, was not seen by the first driver and T-boned the first van as a result.
The female driver suffered minor injuries to her left elbow as a result of the collision. Although an ambulance responded to the scene, the female ultimately declined hospital transportation. The male driver did not report any injuries on scene.
Minor traffic delays resulted from the incident.
